  1. Have a food diary and write everything that you eat during meals. Writing what you eat makes you aware about your caloric intake.  It makes you conscious about eating too much. And so, to make you aware of what you are doing, keep a food diary handy.
  2. Going into shopping? Make a shopping list. Making a shopping list and strictly following your list is another means of avoiding excess calories from entering your pantry. With less exposure to fattening foods, you are guaranteed to lose more weight!
  3. Never go shopping when you are hungry. Hunger pangs can make you shop and buy more than you really need. So, to avoid over shopping with the foods you really don’t need, shop with your stomach full.
  4. Eat only half of the serving. When you dine in a restaurant, eat only the half of what is being served to you and take the rest home.  This way, you will not be over-stuffing yourself with excess calories when eating out.
  5. Eat without any distractions. When having your meal, turn off your television. Do not eat in front of your computer. Being only half aware of your meals and what you are eating can make you eat more. So, to avoid this from happening, eat without any distractions.
  6. Never try to lose weight fast. Most people like to lose weight fast by trying one fad diet after another.  But the downside of fad diets is this: After the diet period, most also regain what they lost. And so, be realistic. Carry out a weight loss plan that is easy to adapt into your lifestyle for the rest of your life.
  7. Seek for support. Having friends or family members that can support you can make your weight loss plan easier to follow.  If there are no friends or family that can support you, why not join a social network that can encourage you to lose weight? It will make you feel good and well supported in reaching your weight loss goals.
  8. Never get discouraged with a little weight regain.  Some people easily get discourage when they regain some weight.  And if this also happening to you, don’t lose heart. Setbacks can be expected sometimes. Having weight regain means you need to strive more.  And so, fight and reach for your weight goal!
  9. Try incorporating some physical activities into your lifestyle. Do a little stretching. Have some brisk walking for at least 10 to 15 minutes per day. Take the stairs instead of the escalator or the elevator. Tidy up your garden. These are some exercise suggestion that can make you burn more calories each day.
